Creative. {handmade arts boutique} is locally owned and operated by husband & wife duo- Michelle, and Billy Byrne. Their newly obtained brick & mortar location is in the heart of historic downtown New Albany, IN.

Billy & Michelle are artisans themselves, and lovers of all art. As long as they've known each other, they've always been making things. For Michelle, it's handmade greeting cards, and altered art. For Billy, it's woodworking and metal arts, but mainly hand-turned pens. Friends, family, and colleges took to their hand-crafted pieces so well the couple went with the suggestion of selling their work. This worked out pretty well, and provided a nice income on the side…but the entrepreneur in both of them ultimately wanted to do something bigger…In the form of Creative.
Billy has a full time job in the construction industry, Michelle just completed a temporary contract with the U.S. Census Bureau. Now that that's ended, she will be able to dedicate her time to the shop.
Billy 29 and Michelle 27, were married on May 17th of 2008. No children yet, just a cat & a couple puppies to keep them on their toes.
To be able to combine each other, their love for the arts, and the dream of running a business of their own is truly a blessing, they say- "it just feels right, like what they SHOULD be doing.
Their shop is located in the unique historic downtown New Albany. Right in the heart of where the Harvest Home Coming Festival is held each year.
They are looking at late August for a soft opening, and then a Grand Opening a couple weeks later.
Creative will carry a wide variety of classy & unique handmade items from local artists and all over. Some of the items will include: paper arts, fiber arts, wood crafts, glass blown pieces, soy candles soaps & lotions, jewelry & accessories, home decor, ceramics, paintings, photography prints, and much much more!
